A fundraising dinner to support mission work in Malawi has been scheduled for Saturday, July 31st at 7:00 in the fellowship hall. All donations for the dinner will go to support efforts to bring clean water to the people of the country, to promote healthy living. Jesus calls us to bring water to those who thirst. May we joyfully participate in this mission effort!
Acworth Presbyterian is making a new pictorial directory! It is always helpful to grow as a church family by being able to put faces with names. This is particularly important to new members of our family who have many new brothers and sisters in Christ to get to know. Sign up to have your picture taken either Friday, July 30 in the evening or Saturday, July 31 in the afternoon or evening. Speak to Travis Prestwood about which time works for you!
Andrew Whaley will be out of the office from July 2nd until July 10th as he attends the Presbyterian General Assembly meeting in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Rev. Fred Boozer will be back in the pulpit on Sunday July 4th while Andrew is out of town.
Each Sunday until August 1, Andrew will be leading a class titled In the Cloud of Witnesses: An Introduction to Presbyterian Theology. The class is open to all ages, and you are welcome to attend as often as you are in town. There is no required book to purchase, though the primary guide will be A More Profound Alleluia: Theology and Worship in Harmony. There are copies available for $15 for anyone who would like to purchase one.
